Favorite Backstreet Experience: The first time I met them, way back June of 1997 in Los Angeles (I later found out they were there shooting videos), and I had no idea they were the Backstreet Boys (cuz I'd heard of them two years before) until a month later, but they were extremely nice and are still the same after all this time. A close 2nd would be sitting behind the Boys at the 1998 Billboard Awards in Las Vegas. After the show, Howie and his sister Pollyanna were the only ones left. All the other Boys had left. So, I practically ran and stood two feet in front of Howie. He was signing business cards for some lady. Finally after he was done, I asked for his autograph and handed over a pink paper that was an invite to the New Year's Rockin' Eve taping (which the Boys performed at). I thought the pen he'd been using was his, but it wasn't!! So I asked everyone around me if I could borrow a pen and no one would lend me one, so Howie gave me back the paper. Thinking quickly, I asked him for a hug and he smiled and said "Sure", then he hugged me!! Then his bodyguard started escorting him backstage. One of my friends passed by him and asked for a hug, too, which she got. And I still have that pink paper, too.

Why Do I Like BSB??

Why is the sky blue?? I don't know why I like the Backstreet Boys. I listened to mostly alternative, hard rock, or metal music before I started listening to BSB. Something about the way their voices blended together appealed to me greatly, then hearing them individually and really hearing each individual talent, just made them all the more appealing. Besides the fact their music helped me through some really tough times, they are extremely talented people. Now, I've mixed in some pop music into my CD collection becuz of the Backstreet Boys. I guess they've opened my ears, not to mention my mind.

BSB vs. 'N Sync

No competition. BSB are a vocal harmony group, and while 'N Sync can sing, they don't do it as spectacular as the Boys do during concert. Since one of my closest friends is an 'N Sync fan, I've gone to a few concerts with her, so I've been able to compare. BSB are more ear appeal than eye appeal. Everyone knows that 'N Sync are incredible dancers. They're more eye appeal than ear appeal. I'm not saying I don't like 'N Sync. I like some of their stuff, actually. As for the rivalry between the groups, it isn't exactly BSB's fault that everything 'N Sync is doing, BSB did a year ago becuz 'N Sync was backed by the same person (Lou Pearlman) and they had the same managers (Johnny and Donna Wright). Now they have the same record label (Jive). BSB had to break down doors to get where they are, while all the groups coming after them are just walking through. And it pisses me off that 'N Sync isn't giving the Boys their due props for making it a whole lot easier for them to break into the music scene than the Boys had it. So, I think it's understandable that the BSB are more than a little irritated. Then there's 'N Sync's 2.4 million first-week record sales scam, which their getting awards for. People have looked into this and were told by store managers that 'N Sync's record company wanted it keyed into the register that if one copy was bought, two would be recorded. Many fans have reported that their receipts said they bought two copies of No Strings Attached when they only bought one. So in actuality, 'N Sync only sold half of that 2.4 million. Why the scam? Jive executives want to keep the BSB/'N Sync rivalry going between the fans becuz it sells more records. Black & Blue was certified gold, platinum, and 8x platinum at the same time and it had been out less than a month. So how could they have not broken 'N Sync's so-called record?? Cuz in reality, Black & Blue sold 3.6 million it's first week, but since Jive wants to keep the rivalry going, they cut off 2 million. Do the Boys know about this?? Probably, and if they do, I think it's damn honorable of them to sit back and watch 'N Sync being praised for something they didn't achieve in the first place. All the Boys care about is getting out new music to their fans, that's what's important to them, not breaking records. If you don't agree with me, that's fine and dandy with me. I'm just telling my opinion on the whole situation.

What Is The "102 Crew"?? **Just in case you're wondering**

The "102 Crew" consists of several members, most of which attended the illustrious St. Catherine Indian School, and all come from the same Indian tribe, Acoma (except for "honorary members"). My brother (3rd oldest) is the crew leader (or "Godfather" as he likes to call himself) while I'm like the "Princess". Don't worry, we're not a gang or a cult or anything like that. Since there were so many cliques (or "crews") at St. Kate's, all members from the same tribes, most of the students from Acoma decided to form our own crew. We're all just basically tight friends who like to hang out together and party.
